Let me start this post by making a bit of a disclaimer: I am not, in any way, an expert in Astrology. I know more than the basics, enough to get by and infuse an element here or there into my readings. We're talking more than the average person who kinda-sorta understands their sun sign, but I am no match for those who have spent years studying this complex and fascinating field. So now that that's out of the way, I want to tell you a little story about an epiphany I recently had regarding my own chart. Before that though, I'll explain a little about what this post will discuss, which are the three core signs; Sun, Moon, and Rising.

Let's start with the Sun Sign. This is the aspect of our chart that we tend to talk about the most. It's probably how we mostly identify and the thing looked at when consulting a daily horoscope and for many, it starts and stops there. But, we know better, and Astrology is much more complicated than the Sun sign. So, let's now introduce the Moon sign. This is the sign that was present in the Moon at the time and date of our birth. It's associated with our inner selves, our emotional lives and reactions and how we process and filter our feelings. And finally, if discussing the core three, we also have our Rising sign. This is the sign that was on the horizon during our date and time of birth, also known as the ascendant sign. It is believed that the Rising Sign is how we project and reflect to the world. While the Sun sign is what you know to be true about yourself, and how you may experience yourself overall, the Rising Sign is often how you appear to others and the outside world.
